Will Prissy choose to go to the prom with Show Dog Shawn or will she look past the dirt on the outside to see Dirt Dog’s kind heart?

Keenly aware that God gifted her with the love of writing, she listens to His voice to guide her work. Two years ago, God opened the door to the writing world for Lisa, and she never looked back.
Lisa earned a B.S. in business (High Point University) and a master’s degree in education (NCSU). She co-leads book studies for an international prayer group. Lisa is a member of Word Weavers, AWSA, ACFW, and is Speak Up speaker-certified. She is an Arise Daily contributor.
Lisa traveled on multiple trips to Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova. She participated in “Coats to the City” in NYC and other mission trips, and organized and conducted a “Back Yard Bible Club”.
As a business and marketing teacher, Lisa led the Bible club for several years and was voted Teacher of the Year in 2017. She was a member of the county and state literacy teams and led workshops at both levels.
Lisa’s favorite pastimes are boating with her husband, baking, cooking, and spending sunrises with Jesus. She is burdened by plummeting literacy rates and the decline of family values and Biblical principles in our culture.
Over the last two years, Lisa’s work has been published in online magazines, devotions, blogs, websites, and compilations. She wrote a Psalm Bible Study titled After God’s Own Heart, which is featured on her website. http://www.praying-prodigals.com
She recently finished books two and three in the Dirt Dog and Friends Series (ages 3-6), is an author in a beach anthology (Carolina Tides, Spring 2026), and is co-authoring Pets to the Rescue, A Cousin Crew Series, a six-book series for 7-10-year-olds. The title for the first book, which releases February 03, 2026, is Apple Butter Adventure. Books two and three are in preliminary stages.
Her first children’s picture book, Dirt Dog Invites Prissy Poodle to the Prom, will be released on March 17, 2026. Pre-sales begin March 01.
